The terms, in plain words

Section 01

Who this agreement is with#

These terms are the agreement between you and Pik'it (Lebanon) whenever you use pikit.store, join our list, or buy something from us. By doing any of those you accept them. If you do not, the honest answer is not to use the site — and you are welcome to write to us about why.

The shop has not opened yet. Right now nothing on this site takes money from you — there is no checkout, no card field and no pre-order to pay for. The sale clauses below are written and published in advance so that on the day the shop does open, you are not agreeing to something you have not had the chance to read.

Section 02

Orders#

Everything shown on this site is an invitation to buy, not an offer. Your order is an offer to us, and the contract exists only when we send you an order confirmation. Until then we can decline — because a product sold out, because a price was listed wrongly, or because an order looks fraudulent — and if we decline after you have paid, you are refunded in full and immediately.

Checkout runs on Shopify. Your card details go to Shopify and its payment processors, never to us; we see the order, the delivery address and whether it was paid.

Section 03

Prices#

Prices are in US dollars and include what the page says they include. Where a price shows shipping as included, that is the price you pay.

Import duty and local sales tax are a different matter: on an international order these are set by your country, charged by your customs authority, and are yours to pay. We cannot calculate them for you and we cannot absorb them.

We correct pricing mistakes. If something is listed at an obviously wrong price, we will tell you before the order ships and you can confirm at the right price or cancel for a full refund.

Delivery#

Where we ship, what it costs and how long it takes are on the Shipping & Delivery page, which forms part of these terms. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery.

Section 05

Changing your mind#

Your cancellation and refund rights are on the Returns & Refunds page, which also forms part of these terms. Nothing here removes a right your own consumer law gives you — where the two disagree, your law wins.

Section 06

About the product#

Pik’it toothpicks are birch wood infused with food-grade flavour. They are a flavoured wooden toothpick and nothing else.

• They contain no nicotine and no tobacco. They are not a smoking cessation product, and we make no health claim of any kind about them.
• They are not food and are not to be chewed or swallowed. A toothpick is a sharp wooden object. Use it as one.
• Keep them away from small children. Like any toothpick, they are a choking and puncture hazard for young children and should be stored out of reach.
• Ingredients are printed on every box. If you have an allergy, read it before you use one, and write to us if anything is unclear — we would rather answer the question than have you guess.

Section 07

Using this site#

The site, the Pik’it name and logo, the photography, the 3D work and the writing are ours and stay ours. You are welcome to share links and to quote us fairly. You are not welcome to copy the brand, resell the product as your own, or lift the artwork.

Do not attack the site, scrape it at a volume that degrades it for other people, or try to get past the access controls on unreleased pages. A polite email asking to see something usually works better.

Section 08

What we are responsible for#

We are responsible for foreseeable loss caused by us breaking this agreement or failing to use reasonable care. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, for business losses, or for a delay caused by something genuinely outside our control — a customs hold, a courier strike, a natural disaster.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not permit us to limit. Where our liability can be limited, it is limited to what you paid for the order in question.

The site is provided as it is. We work hard on it, but we do not promise it will never be unavailable — sometimes we will be fixing something.

Section 09

Law and disputes#

These terms are governed by the law of Lebanon. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in, and you may bring proceedings there.

Before any of that: email hello@pikit.store. We are two founders and a small team, we answer our own mail, and almost everything is solvable in one message.

Section 10

Changes#

We may update these terms. The version that applies to your order is the one published when you placed it, and the date at the top of this page tells you which that was.
